I wanted to start my enhancement neurotips with the power of smell.
Smell has the ability to evoke memories, emotions, thoughts, beliefs, health and unwellness. We are extremely sensitive to smell. So we need to utilise this for all we can do to support our enhancement!
The use of essential oils has been used for millenia in the treatment and management of diseases, disorders and conditions.
Many plants and their derived oils have been found to have neuroprotective effects.
Heartwing sorrel has amazing antioxidant effects, poet’s daffodil is being researched to support those with alzheimer’s disease and plants from the Cistus species are being developed within anti-depressant medicine.
If you are looking to improve your memory or learning capabilities then eucalyptus and lavender are your plants of choice. They are also supportive of being able to play attention for a long period of time.
If you have something hard or tough to do it is better to use a sedative scent like lavender rather than a stimulating one as too much alertness can prevent vigilance and grit - an interesting concept. If you want to get something done you need vigilance not stimulation.
Rosemary has antibacterial, antifungal, anticancer, antioxidant and is hypoglycemic. It also stimulates the nervous system and increases memory and concentration capacity. If you need to learn something quickly then I suggest getting rosemary oil on your hands, rubbing them together, then breathe in the warmed up oil!
If you need to improve your visual performance and the ability to pay attention then orange, coffee, lavender and liquorice are your scents.
Jasmine has been found to increase autonomic response in the nervous system with blood oxygen saturation, breathing rate and blood pressure all being improved by this smell.
Corriander has antidepressant, anxiolytic and antioxidant. Inhaling corriander oil improves anxiety, depression and reduces oxidative stress. It has also been shown to reduce inflammation in the brain and increase the availability of glutathione.
Lemon balm and lavender reduce agitation and aggression and have no side effects unlike more artifical medication. Both these oils have a calming and soothing effect.
If you are experiencing anxiety and want to reduce the effects of it then lavender, orange, sandal wood, rose, bergamot, clary sage, roman chamomile and ylang-ylang have all been proved to support this.
If you want further support in rebalancing your hypothalamus then frankincense and Myhhr have been shown to have a positive effect on resetting and reducing inflammation. They are also useful in supporting those who suffer headaches and migraines.
I intend that there is something there for everyone who may want to enhance their neurological wellbeing this June.
You can burn oils, put them on your hands, rub then inhale or spray them into the air around you.
Whatever you need to do to inhale the scent then just do that.
I guarantee it will support your neurological functions in the best, most natural of ways.
Fragrance is everything: it is the relationship between you and your mind, you and other people, you and this world. It is the life that you lead in your head. It is the life that you lead in the ways your skin feels. It is everything
