Today I am going to urge you to just take stock and think of how you would like kindness to be shown to you.
Write My Kindness on top of a sheet of paper and for the next five minutes really consider how you want to see, hear, feel, taste and smell kindness in your life.
The only rules are that Kindnesses should be about how they meet your needs in the medium and long term. Not just a hit of instant gratification. You can get that anywhere and anytime from cheap, false, shallow hits.
Kindness is depth, Kindness is length and Kindness is meaningful.
Understanding how we prepare for our goals and how this is extremely kind also has to have some knowledge of the vagal nerve.
The vagus nerve is the longest nerve of the autonomic nervous system and is one of the most important nerves in the body. The vagus nerve helps to regulate many critical aspects of human physiology, including the heart rate, blood pressure, sweating, digestion, and even speaking.
The more we can have strategies that delay gratification. The healthier our vagal tone is. The healthier our vagal tone is the higher our rate of wellbeing.
So kindness is not a cheap, instant oh look how kind I am being thing.
Kindness is….. developing strategies that meet need in the long term to keep us all healthy in mind, body and spirit.
Who needs long term kindness in their life? Share this post with two other people who wouldl benefit.
“The vagus nerve is the conductor of the human body symphony orchestra.”
