Bringing in Your Light
In the quiet of dawn, when shadows retreat, You step forth, a beacon, your purpose complete. Your light, a celestial dance, whispers through trees, Guiding lost souls, igniting their dreams.
In the labyrinth of doubt, where darkness prevails, You wield intent like a lantern, unfurling its sails. Each step you take, a ripple of grace, A symphony of kindness, a warm embrace.
Your laughter—a sunbeam that dances on waves, Chasing away storms, illuminating caves. And when tears fall like rain, you gather each drop, Weaving constellations, a celestial backdrop.
So bring in your light, oh radiant soul, Paint the world with colors, make broken hearts whole. For in your existence, a universe unfurls, A tapestry of love, stitched with stardust and pearls.
Remember, dear traveler, as day turns to night, You are more than mere atoms, more than mere light. You’re a comet, a comet with a luminous trail, Guiding others home, through tempest and gale. 🌟✨
The spirit of bonhomie for many can be low on this day through exhaustion, sadness, fear, disconnection, unrealistic expectations.
So today I would like you all to remember the power of light. Even if the light is just a flicker it can shine the way.
We need to appreciate how light has a profound impact on our mood and well-being:
Natural Light and Serotonin:
Sunlight is a real mood-booster. Exposure to natural light increases the brain’s release of a hormone called serotonin, which is associated with feelings of calmness and focus.
When we bask in sunlight, our bodies produce more serotonin, contributing to a positive mood and overall well-being.
Circadian Rhythms and Sleep:
Light plays a crucial role in regulating our circadian rhythms, the internal clock that governs our sleep-wake cycles.
Exposure to morning light helps shift our circadian rhythms earlier, promoting better sleep quality and reducing insomnia symptoms.
Conversely, night time light exposure shifts our rhythms later, potentially disrupting sleep patterns and affecting mood2.
Colour Temperature Matters:
The colour of artificial light indoors varies. Light bulbs can be warmer or cooler, and their “temperature” is usually marked on the package.
Warm lighting (resembling natural sunlight) creates a cosy, social atmosphere. Think of the warm glow of a fireplace or candlelight.
Cool lighting promotes focus and concentration. It’s ideal for workspaces or areas where you need to be alert.
Choose bulbs that emit generally whitish light, avoiding garish red, blue, or green tones that distort colours in a space.
Glare-Free Natural Light:
While natural light is beneficial, we should be mindful of its frequent companion—glare.
Use window coverings like sheer curtains to let in natural light while minimising glare.
Opt for matte surfaces over glossy ones to reduce glare from artificial lighting.
Remember, whether it’s the gentle morning sun or the cosy glow of a lamp, light has the power to lift our spirits and shape our experiences.
Use the light to raise your spirits today.
Let the light in, and may your days be bright! ☀️🌟
Learn to light a candle in the darkest moments of someone’s life. Be the light that helps others see; it is what gives life its deepest significance.
