I spent my drive to the local supermarket contemplating your words about people becoming more aggressive if they are excluded. By the time I arrived I'd had thoughts of hugging Nigel Farage and recalled David Cameron saying some years ago we should "hug a hoodie". Interesting journey! 😂
Oh Andy that made me laugh so much.. the Nigel Farage affair is so interesting, I don’t recall Coutts closing the then Prince of Wales account when he turned up with a load of Middle Eastern bribery money in a carrier bag 🤣 seriously though the virtue signalling and oppression perpetuated more commonly these days is going to lead to more aggression and less tolerance ironically. Especially when you factor in the variable that most people have no faith in anything anymore. They need a cause and there are those that will bring that cause and give them something to literally “fight “ for.
Maybe we all need to hug a government minister? Turn the tables 🤣🤣
Good point re: the POW. And I really think we should start a campaign to hug a government minister! At a psychological level, what's causing the chasm between those that wish to restrict freedoms and those that want increase them? There doesn't seem to be a middle ground anymore.
It appears to be hugely in group our group behaviour that has been driven by media influences that are polarising everyone. It’s like everyone is an either/or instead of an either/and . Everything is being reduced to the lowest common denominator and instead of seeing differences as opportunities to discover and learn they are being viewed as they must be destroyed. Ideological divisions are rife and people forget ideology isn’t factual it’s opinion based which is an unsafe place for people who like to have empirical explanations and truths to underpin their beliefs. It’s a tricky situation for sure.
That piece had a lot of feeling in it and has left me very pensive.
I intend in a good way 🤣

Thanks for explaining. Makes my head spin tbh. It's hard not to get sucked in and takes effort to create space from it all and maintain equanimity.
