Today we are going to reverse engineer any behaviour, action or habit you have.
The focus being that we become aware of each step of what/why/how/where/when.
This brings fresh awareness and cognition to anything that we wish to.
The more we are aware, the more the brain takes notice.
The more the brain takes notice, the less stuck and more flexible they get.
The more flexible they get, the healthier are.
This means less neurodegenerative diseases, the better the growth, the better planning ability and the more self-regulation.
It really is a no brainer.
So follow the following steps -
Take any behaviour, action or habit you have
How do you feel when you have completed it?
How do you know you are doing it?
What triggers your need to do it?
What time of day is it?
What happens just before doing it?
How do you feel?
This may take a bit of thinking but that is the point of it.
By reverse engineering a plan we are changing our perspective on planning which strengthens our ability to have plasticity and flexibility.
We need plasticity in our prefrontal cortex.
It really is as simple and complex as that.
“To the optimist, the glass is half full. To the pessimist, the glass is half empty. To the engineer, the glass is twice as big as it needs to be.
Thanks
Just a clarification. when I completed this exercise, I analysed two of my behaviours one that that can be classified a productive behaviour and one not really. is that ok? Or it meant to be only for those behaviours/patterns which we think are beneficial?
